Shortening URLs is only useful if it is quick. If I have to spend more than 5 seconds to do it I just use the full web address. Goo.gl is the official URL shortening service from Google that only in this days implemented a graphical interface to provide its service.

There are two possibilities, one editing Firefox about:config and the other installing the plugin Tab Mix Plus (which I highly suggest anyway).

Yesterday I put Windows 7 on my laptop. The first application I installed afterwards was Firefox, so that i didn’t have to use Internet Explorer to download all of my geeky softwares. The second one to be installed was Free Download Manager, so that I could download them at a reasonable speed.
